The GM 602 & 604 Crate DUI/Distributor is designed specifically for these crate engines with two features that set it apart from regular Racing DUIs.
First, the mechanical advance is calibrated on a distributor machine with an aggressive and accurate timing curve designed to meet the requirements of these crate motors. This special racing curve will ensure maximum performance and get your car out of the corners faster.
Second, a melanized gear is installed on the distributor (instead of the stock cast gear) which is compatible with factory roller cams.
Available in "Stealth" version with no decals and a black cap for a bone stock appearance.
Notes
This does not have an internal rev limiter. If you would like to add an external rev limiter then part number 5478728 can be used with this distributor.
Each distributor is tested on a machine before they leave D.U.I.
This distributor will allow you to open plug gap to .050"-.055".
Will work to over 10,000 RPM's.
No spark box is required.

I would call DUI directly @ 901-396-5782 and check with them, they have dyno'd many setups and would know better, I would image the larger gap would be the best though. Thanks for asking, Glenn.
